Description:
The official community for all LiveJournal volunteers.
This is an official LiveJournal community, built for the people who keep this place running!

Who are the LiveJournal Volunteers?
  • Members of various teams around the site who work together on projects like Technical Support, the Schools Directory, Abuse Investigation, Translation...

  • Members of official communities like suggestions or lj_feedback who have a respectful attitude and continually have excellent insight into the ways LiveJournal works and ought to work.

  • Ordinary users who do their best to help other people get the most out of their LiveJournal experience, whether it's by helping the people on your friends page or managing a major community that reaches out to those you don't even know.

  • Ordinary users who want to give back to the greater LiveJournal community but don't yet know what they want to do or where their talents are needed.

If you fit into any of those categories, you are welcome here!

Purpose of This Community

  • A "help wanted" bulletin board that can alert you to volunteer opportunities that are available on LiveJournal.

  • Getting to know each other, as we don't often get the chance to get to know people from other volunteer teams. Let us know what brought you to LJ, what keeps you here, what sort of projects you like to work on, your interests, your pets, your family, whatever makes you unique!

This community is just getting started, so feel free to come on in and get comfortable. Specific community guidelines are coming in the future; in the meantime we ask that you abide by the standard "don't be a jerk" and "lj-cuts are your friend" guidelines embraced by most LJ communities.

Your maintainers are markf, arie, and astronewt who between them are the managers to pretty much every official volunteer team.

Your community moderators are representatives from all the major volunteer teams.

(Note: This isn't the place to get support or discuss problems you've had with a volunteer team. Please see our contact page for that. If you have a complaint regarding a department, please use the "Feedback" option on that page to reach LiveJournal's staff members directly.)
